About Jeff Hawes

Jeff has played guitar for over 40 years. He began guitar lessons at 14 learning basic popular/rock music and advanced into jazz, classical and other genres over the years. He played trumpet from 4th through 12th grade in concert, jazz and marching bands. Starting in the early 80’s, Jeff has played guitar professionally in wedding & event bands, cover bands and currently plays electric and classical prelude music in both ensemble and solo settings at his church (St. Regis in Bloomfield Hills). He has also played for community outreach as part of the Michigan Fingerstyle Guitar Society at nursing homes and for patients at Karmanos Cancer Center in Detroit, MI. Jeff’s teaching perspective: “Whatever your area of musical interest and playing level, guitar will bring you lifelong enjoyment! I’m excited to help you achieve your guitar playing goals!”
